Blog Nine 10/10

\In chapter 6, Commonalities and Variations, I took an even closer look at the section of The Mayan: Writing and Warfare. The reasons I took a closer look at this specific one was because i'm half Guatemalan from my mom's side, and of course, a bit of prior knowledge from my Spanish class junior year. This time it was a bit easier to understand since it's in English and i'm not super fluent in Spanish so there were some stuff I couldn't quiet understand.

I liked reading this section because I enjoy knowing more about my culture. I feel like it would be a very interesting experience to live in a pyramid the way people back then did. I also found that they developed a mathematical system and the number zero. Which is something I never knew prior to this. As well as the whole calculation of the day and night with all the plants. All the stuff I was taught just generally had to do with the leaders these different places had, not so much focusing on all the good things they were able to accomplish. Which is pretty sad because I feel like they deserve so much more recognition than they get.
